i 1. That all checks issued by the City shall be signed
by the City tianager and countersigned by the Finance Director.
In the absence of either the Finance Director or the City
i
E Manager, the City Clerk shall sign or countersign such checks.

2. That the following amendments to the City Code
are hereby enacted:
A. That Sec. 2 -8, Paragraph (a), sub- paragraph
(3) is hereby amended to read as follows:
"The Director of Finance shall counter-
s sign all checks, after verification of
availability of funds."
B. That Sec. 2 -8, Paragraph (d), is hereby amended
to read as follows:
"In the absence of f96 'Director of Finance
or the City Manager, the City `Clerk shall
sign or countersign all checks."
