NOW, THsREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY.THE MAYOR AND CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA,
That,

Section 1.
There is hereby assessed and imposed on every ihsurai��';e

Section 2.

Tho' said excise or license "tax will be payable annually on
the first day of March of each yea' after the passage of this Ordi-

Section 3,
A Firemen's Relief and Pension Fund to be administered in
accordance with the provisions of this Ordinance is hereby created.
Section 1� .
All ironies col1ectgd from the excise and license tax pro -

vided for herein shall be paid into the said Firemen's Rolitif and
Pension Fund in the manner prescribed by Chapter 175 of the Laws
of the State of Florida.
Section 5.
Thero.•is hereby created a Board)'of Trustees of th`e Firemen's
Relief and Pohsion Fund to consist of the Mayor, the Chief of the

Fire Department and a reppilarly employed fireman chosen by the Coliii-
cil upon recommendation of a majority of the regularly employed
:firemen,
Tho Mayor and the Chief of the'Fire Department will serve
as long 'as they continue tq,11i61d offib"e as Mayor and Aspect-
iv6ly and upon a vacancy in the office of the Mayor or the Ch'ie'f, their - respective successors shall succeed to the positi-6n of Trustee.

The fireman shall be trustee for a period ft' years two he

Section 6.

complete minute cbook of the )prbceedirigs of the Board. The - Trustee
shall not receive any compensation as such.
Section 7.
The powers of the Board of Trustees shall be "those as set
forth iY-;'Sedtion 175.03 of the Laws of the State of Florida.
Se'dtion 8.
All payme-Ats from the said Fund shall be-pursuaht to Sections
175 11, 175.12, 175-13, 175-14, 115.1,',175.16, 175.161, 175.17,
175:18 and 175-19 of the Laws of the State of Florida.
Section 9.
The Secretary of the Board of Trustees shall kebp� -'a `..�e cord of

Section 10-,
All ftfzids and 'secur"iti`6z of the FlrerrieriIs Relief and Pensid`-'in
Fund §Iiall be deposited with the Citty Finance Officer who shall keep
the same in a separate fund and he 'shall be liable for the'safe keep-
ing of same under the bond given by him to the City, and he shall be
liable in the same manner and to the safqe-extent as he is liable -for
the safe keeping of thd funds of the City.
Sfetion 11.
The City of South Miami shall have no responsibility for the
operation of this Fund, except as specified herein and shall bear no
expense in the establishment or operation of the Fund.
