1951-380 A RESOLU'TIO11 N0. 380 A A RNSOLUTION PROVIDING FOR A RUN-OFF ELECTION ON FEBRUARY 271 1951 IN THE EVENT NO CM,'DIDATE FOR "YOH '"CEIV4S a L!'"1tITY OF 1'I2 WTES CAST FOR 11AYOR AT THE GENERAL ELECTION TO BL 1,1= ON FEBRU- ARY 131 A.D. 1951, ANA/0R IN TIL EVENT OF A TIE IN THE VOTES FOR COU2ICII.IEN. I 'VIDEF AS, per Section 4 of the Charter of the City of South 1'iami as amended, there is to be a General Election on Feebruary 13, A.D. 1951 at which a Mayor and fivo (5) Councilmen are to be elected, and - *JEREAS, pursuant to subsection (e) of the said Section 4 it is further provided that the lkayor shall be elected by a majority of the votes cast for Mayor at that election, and �7HEI2EAS, pursuant to said subsection (e) of Section 41 Run- off Elections shall be hold if necessary within thirty (30) days from the date of the canvass of the votes cast at the General Election, and s'41EREAS, three (3) candidates for Mayor have been qualified. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By THE IAYOR AND THE CITY CCUNCIL CF ijM, CITY OF SOUTH UTAII, FLDRIDat 1. That in the event no candidate for Mayor receives a majority of the votes cast for Mayor at the General Election and/or fl I in the event that a tie vote results in election for the Council on February 13: A.D. 19519 that a Run-off Election between the two candidates receiving the highest number Of votes for Mayor, and/or between the candidates tied for the Council, be held on February 27, 1951* 2. That the Election Board serving at the General Election on February 13, A.D. 1951, be, and it is hereby empowered to serve at the Run-off Election on February 27, 1951, should it be necessary to hold said Run-off Election.
