ROLL CALL AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA B. INVOCATION: Dr. Richard Neil, First United Methodist Church of South Miami C. ITEMS FOR COMMISSION CONSIDERATION: 1' Resolution canvassing the regular election returns of the City election held February 9th, 1988, for the purpose of electing a Mayor, Commissioner Group I and Commissioner Group II, and declaring results of aformentioned election. 2. Resolution canvassing the returns of the spectal;elettionRheld in conjunction with the regular election held February 9th, 1988, for the purpose of consideration of twelve (12) Charter amendment questions and declaring results of aforementioned election. 3. INSTALLATION: Oath of Office to be administered to incoming Mayor, Commissioner Group I and Commissioner Group II: The Honorable Celeste Muir The Honorable Gisele Cardonne 4. Resolution appointing Vice -Mayor of the City of South Miami to serve in such capacity until February 13th, 1990. RESOLUTION NO. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA, CANVASSING THE ELECTION RETURNS OF THE REGULAR CITY ELECTION HELD ON FEBRUARY 99TH, 1988, FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING A MAYOR, COMMISSIONER GROUP I AND COMMISSIONER GROUP II,_AND DECLARING THE RESULTS OF AFORMENTIONED REGULAR CITY ELECTION. WHEREAS, the City Commission, sitting as a Canvassing Board, has examined the election results of the regular election of the City of South Miami, Florida, held February 9th, 1988, as certified by the Supervisor of Election and declares the said election results to be proper and correct, and having counted and recorded the absentee ballots in the manner provided by law; and WHEREAS, there was no candidate opposing the candidacy of Bill Porter for Mayor of the City of South Miami, Florida; and .WHEREAS, there was no candidate opposing the candidacy of Carl B. Schwai.t for Commissioner, Group II of the City of South Miami; and WHEREAS, the total votes cast in said election for each candidate for Commissioner Group I are as follows: COMMISSIONER GROUP I: Ballot Position #8 Leroy "Spike" Gibson 367 Ballot Position #9 Janet Feagans Launcelott 702 Section 1. That Bill Porter has been duly elected to serve as Mayor in the City of South Miami:, Florida, for a term of two years expiring February 13th, 1990. Section 2. That Carl B. Schwait,and Janet F. Launcelott have been duly elected to serve as Commissioners in the City of South Miami, Florida, for a term of four years exp%ring February, 1992. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 10th cby of February 1988. That Charter Amendment questions presented at*the Special City Election held in conjunction with the Regular City Election on Tuesday, February 9th, 1988, have been duly approved and passed by the Electorate of the City of South Miami, in accordance with law. and Charter Amendment auestions 19 29 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 , will hereby amend the City Charter accordance with the provisions therein.
