WHEREAS, the City's Zoning Code allows 16" extensions of
barbed -wire on fences in all non - residential areas of the City;, and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission find it in the
public health, safety and welfare to allow such extensions in the
industrial zones only.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That Article III, Section 20 -3.6 (H)(3) of the
City's Zoning Code is amended as follows:
(H) Fences, Walls, Trellises and Hedges
(3) Prohibited Features
Fences constructed wholly or partially of barbed
wire are prohibited, except that fences or walls -
exceeding six (6) feet in height in
aen�sidatf intensive - districts may have a
maximum top extension of sixteen (16) inches
bearing a - maximum of three (3) strands of barbed
wire. Use of electrically charged fences shall
not be permitted in any district.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall become effective upon
adoption.

ZONING CODE OF ORDINANCES BY ADDING A'SUBSECTION REGARDING
DIMENSIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE PUBLIC /INSTITUTIONAL (PI)
AND PARKS AND RECREATION (Pk) DISTRICTS
VHEREkS, is compliance with the City's Comprehensive Plan
and as required by Chapter 163, Florida -Statutes, the City has
recently enacted a Land Development Code regarding the zoning
districts in the City; and
VHEREAS, in order to be consistent and in conformity with
the Comprehensive Plan, the City wishes to add a'subsection to its
Land Development Regulations.
NOV, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That Article III, Section 20 -3.5 titled
"Dimensional Requirements', be amended by adding the following
subsection:
Section 20 -3.5` <C)
(3) Minimum and maximum dimensional requirements
for permitted uses within a PR or PI use
district shall be the same as those listed
in the following tables for uses within the
most restrictive use district located
adiacent to the subject PR or PI property.
Section 2. Than this Ordinance shall be effective
immediately upon adoption.

We, Designer Consigner, Inc. (Merchannt #037002)9 make ap-
plication for the Special Use Permit that allow the selling
of used clothes -( consignment stores) in the Downtown Com-
mercial District of South` Miami.
Designer Consigner is a consignment store, it is a new con-
cept of retailing which is going to give the commercial
neighborhood a new merchandise mix. This is a boutique, not
a second hand -junk shop.
Attract mainstream American consumers. As the economy
gets more uncertain, this kind of business gets better.
This has been proven again and again. Whereas only poor
people used to shop for used items,; many middle- class pa-
trons today will show up searching for ways to save money
and at the same time buy clothing that is a cut above
off- the -rack merchandise.
Just as our customers are mainstream, so our merchandise
is high quality, even superior to that of so- -called major
department stores. We are not a polyester house. We are
very, particular about the kind of clothing and accessories we
accept. It consist largely of better - constructed, natural
fiber clothing supplied by those who 'originally buy nothing
but the , best. Nobody will be able to ` tell our store from a
fancy boutique.
