Board of Aldermen o'i South Miami and of the Chamber of Commerce of the
So.Miami District was called to consider the situation, at the Town
Hall, So. Miami, Sept. 27, 1926.
A great disaster has overtaken our people and their resources will
be inadequate to repair their damages. The whole country knows the story of
our loss, and the cooperation and assistance of the government is counted upon
to lend us a hand now that we are so sorely in need. And it was unanimously
resolved that our U.S.Senators and Representatives in the house be requested
to secure such action hxx by the con ess of the United States as shall re-
lieve the people of their income tax for the current year. For this we will
be most grateful.
