WHEREAS, pursuant to section 200.065, Florida statutes, tax assessments for all real _property within the jurisdiction of the City of South Miami for the fiscal year 2004/2005 has been made by the property appraiser for Dade County; and, WHEREAS, pursuant to the above-cited statutory provision, the Mayor and City Commission are required to adopt a tentative and thereafter a final millage rate for the taxing jurisdiction of the City of South Miami; and, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. There shall be and hereby is levied upon real property in the City of South Miami, Florida, a tax of 7.373 mills on the dollar for the fiscal year 2004/2005 for the operation expenses of the government of the City for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2004, and ending September 30, 2005. This millage rate exceeds the rollback rate by 13.0% Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon passage. PASSED AND ADOPTED this day of 2004.
