RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DISBURSE $16,000 TO TJ PAVEMENT CORP. FOR EMERGENCY SIDEWALK REPAIR, TO BE CHARGED TO PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT LOCAL OPTION GAS TAX ACCOUNT NUMBER 112- 1730 -541 -4640; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS Specific locations within the City of South Miami contain sidewalk networks designed to assist pedestrians with gaining safe access to their intended destinations. Some of these sidewalk segments along the following streets were damaged and needed to be repaired to ensure the safety of users, and to avoid the possibility of lawsuits: • 6400 Bock of SW 591h Place. • SW 63rd Avenue between SW 69th Street and SW 72'd Street. • SW 681h Street The Public Works Department immediately corrected the emergency situation by using the services of one of our contractors, TJ Pavement Corp., who is currently under contract for sidewalk repair and reconstruction throughout the City. The cost of this repair work is $16,000. This amount will be funded through the Public Works Department Local Option Gas Tax Account Number 112- 1730 -541 -4640, with a current account balance of $26,000.00. RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Commission approve the resolution. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA, THAT: Section 1: The City Manager is authorized to disburse $16,000 to TJ Pavement, Corp. for emergency sidewalk repairs.
