The construction project consisted of drainage improvements, water main extension, fire hydrants installation, wider sidewalks, street furniture, roadway rehabilitation, lighting, landscaping and pavement marking. With additional funding becoming available, we are recommending increasing the scope of construction work to include electrical panel relocation to further provide safe access to sidewalk users, improvements to the streetlights and much needed traffic calming within the downtown corridor. This project will be funded through grants from the US EPA State Tribal Assistance Grant (STAG) and the People's Transportation Tax, with account balances of $174,007.25 and $20,000 (FY 2003/04 Downtown Improvements project only). RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Commission approve the funding for the work.
