A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA, RELATING TO SETTING THE DATE AND TIME FOR A COMMISSION WORKSHOP IN RE THE DOWNTOWN PARKING STUDY AND THE STUDY OF THE SWIMMING POOL PROPOSED FOR MURRAY PARK; PROVIDING FOR EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, it is always in the best interests of the public to have a fully informed Mayor and City Commission in order to render the best decisions in the public interest; and WHEREAS, one medium for gathering and sharing information among the elected officials is through authorized studies and the open discussion of the results of those studies; and WHEREAS, any such meeting involving two or more City Commissioners must be open to the public (or "in the Sunshine" per Fl. Statutes Ch. 286) necessitating the prior public scheduling of such meetings; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission desire to hold a workshop to discuss the results of studies on the downtown South Miami parking situation and the plans for a proposed public swimming pool within Murray Park. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA; THAT Section 1. A Commission Workshop is scheduled to be held in the City Commission Chambers on April 29, 2004 at 6:30 pm, for the Mayor and members of the Commission to discuss the results of the Downtown Parking Study and the Murray Park Pool Study. Section 2. This being a Commission Workshop, attendance at the meeting shall be open to the public, however, discussion and participation in the proceedings shall be restricted to the Mayor and Commission. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon approval. PASSED AND ADOPTED this day of April, 2004.
