RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FOR THE
RESIDENTS' NEW GARBAGE RECEPTACLES FROM THE CITY'S CASH
RESERVE ACCOUNT; PROVIDING FOR EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission desire the City to absorb the costs of the
new refuse containers required by the garbage collection system due to begin operations on April
5, 2004; and
WHEREAS, this represents a substantial amount of money which was not otherwise
budgeted for; and
WHEREAS, the only place from which these funds can be allocated during this fiscal
year is the City's Cash Reserve Account which had a balance of $664,743.00 at the beginning of
FY 2003.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is authorized to withdraw $116,048.00 from the
City's General Fund Cash Reserve Account to pay for the residents' garbage receptacles, leaving
a balance of $558,695.00 in that account.
SECTION 2. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon approval.
