A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI,
FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER PURSUANT TO SECTION 7 OF THE CITY -
SERRALTA REBULL SERIG, INC. AGREEMENT FOR SNAPPER CREEK DRAINAGE
IMPROVEMENTS - PHASE 2 CONSTRUCTION TO ACCEPT THE ASSIGNMENT OF THE
AGREEMENT FROM SERRALTA REBULL SERIG, INC. TO SERRALTA REBULL SERIG
CONSTRUCTION, INC.; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS
The proposed roadway drainage project along SW 87th Street between SW 58th Avenue and SW
591h Avenue and SW 58th Avenue from SW 85th Street to SW 87th Street, was previously
awarded to Serralta, Rebull, Serig, Inc on January 6, 2004 in the amount of $141,292.50. In an
effort to better serve their clients, Serralta, Rebull, Serig, Inc. will now perform all construction
contracting services under the name Serralta, Rebull, Serig Construction, Inc. All owners and
employees remain exactly the same while providing the same functions as before.
This project will be funded through a Legislative Appropriation grant administered by the South
Florida Water Management District. The project's account balance, without this project, still
remains at $630,600.00.

CONSTRUCTION, INC.; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission wish to provide drainage construction improvements
within the Snapper Creek area (SW 87th Street from SW 58th Avenue to SW 59th Avenue and SW 58th Avenue
from SW 85th Street to SW 87th Street) under a project known as Snapper Creek Drainage Improvement — Phase
2;
WHEREAS, the construction activities will consist of drainage system improvements, right -of -way
re- grading, re- surfacing and pavement marking within the construction corridor, and;
WHEREAS, on January 6, 2004, the Mayor and City Commission authorized the City Manager to
execute a construction contract with Serralta Rebull Serig, Inc. (SRS) for Snapper Creek Drainage
Improvements — Phase 2 project in an amount of $141,292.50; and
WHEREAS, on January 23, 2004, SRS asked the city, pursuant to section 7 of the agreement, to
authorize the transfer /assignment of the contract to its sister corporation, Serralta Rebull Serig Construction,
Inc. (SRSC) ; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission authorize the City Manager to execute a letter
authorizing the transfer /assignment of the January 6, 2004 agreement for the Snapper Creek Drainage
Improvements — Phase 2 Construction, from SRS to SRSC ( Serralta Rebull Serig Construction);
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1: That the Mayor and City Commission authorize the City Manager to execute a letter
authorizing the transfer /assignment of the January 6, 2004 agreement for Snapper Creek Drainage
Improvements — Phase 2 Construction, pursuant to section 7 of the agreement, from SRS to SRSC ( Serralta
Rebull Serig Construction). The City Manager is authorized to execute the transfer /assignment letter which is
attached to this resolution as exhibit 1.

architectural design firm, as well as general and engineering construction contractors. In order to
better serve our clients, we have separated our construction contracting services so that they are
now performed under our sister firm Serralta Rebull Serig Construction, Inc. This company is owned
and managed by same Principals and equal ownership shares as Serralta Rebull Serig, Inc.
Both companies remain co- located and continue to operate as before, That is, the same owners and
employees that managed and provided construction services under Serralta Rebull Serig, Inc.

Section 1: The city wishes to piggy -back on the existing Snapper Creek - Phase 1 contract
which was awarded to Serralta Rebull Serig, Inc; on June 3, 2003 and executed on June 19, 2003.
Section 2: The engineering consultant reviewed the proposal submitted by Serralta Rebull
Serig, Inc. and confirmed that the unit prices for Snapper Creek - Phase 2 were consistent with those submitted
on May 13, 2003 for the Snapper Creek - Phase 1 contract.
Section 3: The project will be funded through a grant from Legislative Appropriation funds
managed by South Florida Water Management District under grant account number 001- 0000 -132 -2060.
Section 4: That the Mayor and City Commission authorize the City Manager to execute an
agreement with Serralta Rebull Serig, Inc. for the construction of Snapper Creek Drainage Improvements -
Phase 2 in an amount of $141,292.50.
