Mtg 02/03/04 Boards & Committees RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA, RELATING TO BOARDS AND COMMITTEES; APPOINTING HELEN MASSEY TO SERVE ON THE COMMISSION FOR SENIOR CITIZENS FOR A TWO YEAR TERM ENDING FEBRUARY 2,2006; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BACKGROUND AND ANALYSIS This appointment is the request of Mayor Feliu, with your advice and consent. The composition for the Commission for Senior Citizens, created by Ordinance No. 13- 01 -1744 (6/12/01), provides that it shall consist of nine (9) members. Members shall be either a resident of the City or have a principal place of business in the City of South Miami. Ms. Helen Massey is a resident of the City (see attached details). A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA, RELATING TO BOARDS AND COMMITTEES; APPOINTING HELEN MASSEY TO SERVE ON THE COMMISSION FOR SENIOR CITIZENS FOR A TWO YEAR TERM ENDING FEBRUARY 2, 2006; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, The Mayor and Commission recognize the important contributions made by those who serve on the various city boards and committees, and wish to appoint a full complement to each of the active boards and committees; and WHEREAS, The City Commission desires to appoint Helen Massey to serve for a two year term on the Commission for Senior Citizens. Appointment shall expire February 2, 2006 or until a successor is duly appointed and qualified. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA, THAT: Section 1. The City Commission hereby appoints Helen Massey to the Commission for Senior Citizens. Section 2. The expiration date of this appointment shall be February 2, 2006 or until a successor is duly appointed and qualified. Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon approval.
