Hey Mike Good to hear from you. "Happy New Year"! Call the Broward County Sheriffs attorney Jeff Hessler @
954-881-8920. He looked into all the legal ramifications and has been a great reference. Also, their Property
Room Supervisor Yolanda (Yoli) Velazquez @ 954-765-4352 handles all the "public notifications" required by
Florida Law. I've attached a auction notice from Ft. Lauderdale for your review, Some Chiefs were talking about
tetting the wotds"oh-iine" Out in the statute, but I don't know if it went anywhere, Let me know if You heed

Tom,
]Believe it or not, I think we're finally getting somewhere.
We just have one last question:
How do other agencies say they're complying with Florida State law which requires these
items to go to auction. Has anyone obtained a legal opinion that this type of auctioning

Today's law enforcement agencies
have property rooms full of stolen or
forfeited goods. Often, the rightful
owners are not easily identified, and
once merchandise is no longer needed
as evidence, it must be disposed
of properly.
Enter Property Bureau. Founded and
managed by former police officers,
we have developed and deployed a
way to leverage these goods into addi-
tional funding for our partnered law
enforcement agencies.

Property Bureau harnesses the
power of the Internet to quickly
move items out of your property
room, reduce personnel costs
and generate revenue well beyond
traditional police auction methods.
And there is no cost to your
depa tment whatsoever.
We've taken full advantage of the
Internet's potential by creating
Steal It Back.com, an online auction
site that gives property room items
maximum exposure, 24 hours a
day, 7 days a week.
It's a dynamic marketplace that
provides our customers with a huge
array of products to choose from.
As opposed to selling in lots, each
item is merchandised individually
with a photo and description, gen-
erating revenue much higher than
traditional offline police auctions.
Site traffic will be driven by offline
and online advertising and public
relations campaigns.
Bottom line, a partnership with
Property Bureau and Steal It Back.com
will yield dramatically increased
auction revenues that law enforce-
ment agencies can use for such
needs as additional personnel, new
equipment and facilities.
