BACKGROUND AND ANALYSIS: During the 2005 -2006 budget hearings, the City Commission approved a 20% increase in excess trash fees as one the City's sources of revenue for this fiscal year. To fully enact the excess trash fee increase, Section 11 -23 (a) of the City's Code of Ordinances must be amended to reflect the new fees. The 20% fee increase will result in a new fee of $156.00 for a trash pickup in excess of a half load and less than a full truck load. The minimum fee per truck load will increase from $260.00 to $312.00. These fees will take effect immediately upon approval of the attached ordinance. RECOMMENDATION: We recommend approval of the attached ordinance.
