RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA, RELATING TO CITY
COMMISSION MEETINGS; RESCHEDULING THE SEPTEMBER 20,
2005 CITY COMMISSION MEETING TO SEPTEMBER 27, 2005,
STARTING AT 6:30 P.M.; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Section 2 -2.1 of the City of South Miami Code of Ordinances provides that
the City Commission shall hold regular meetings at 7:30 p.m., on the first and third Tuesdays of
each month except for June and July; and
WHEREAS, Section 2 -2.1 of the City of South Miami Code of Ordinances also provides
that regular meetings may be otherwise postponed, cancelled or reset only by Resolution adopted
by a majority of the entire membership of the City Commission; and
WHEREAS, due to the State of Emergency declared Monday, September 19, 2005, as the
result of Hurricane Rita, the Mayor and City Commission desire to reschedule its regular
meeting of Tuesday, September 20, 2005 to Tuesday, September 27, 2005 starting at 6:30 p.m.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The regular City Commission meeting for Tuesday, September 20, 2005 has been
rescheduled to Tuesday, September 27, 2005 starting at 6:30 p.m.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon approval.

Re: Declaration of State of Emergency
I am hereby declaring a State of Emergency as per. Chapter
14, Sec. 14 -12 of the City of South Miami Code of
Ordinances.
According to the National Hurricane Center in Miami, a
hurricane warning was issued at 11:00 a.m. this morning due
to Hurricane Rita for the extreme southern Florida
peninsula from Golden Beach southward to Florida City and
westward to East Cape Sable.
