The resurfacing work calls for patching low spots, repair of cracks, and the installation of an acrylic resurfacing layer and three coats of textured acrylic surfacing. The installer is also required to repaint all of the lines on the tennis and racquetball courts. The Parks and Recreation Department has solicited quotations for the court resurfacing, and the lowest responsive quotation was submitted by Welch Tennis Courts, Inc. in the amount of $10,247.00. Welch Tennis Courts, Inc. is providing a one-year guarantee against faulty workmanship andfor materials. The attached resolution would authorize the City Manager to disburse funds in the amount of $10,247.00 to Welch Tennis Courts, Inc. for this work. Funding is available in the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWGF) account # 001.0000.131.1461 that currently has a balance of $167,233. RECOMMENDATION We recommend that the City Manager be authorized to disburse the amount of $10,247.00 to Welch Tennis Courts, Inc. for the resurfacing of the tennis and racquetball courts at Brewer Park. RESOLUTION NO. WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department has received grant funding through the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) for improvements to Brewer Park, and WHEREAS, one element of the improvements project is the resurfacing of the existing tennis and racquetball courts; and WHEREAS, Welch Tennis Courts, Inc. has provided the lowest responsive quotation for Or. cR urt resurfacing. Contractor will flood courts and check for low spots, then will patch paddled areas as best as possible, .to `a standard tolerance of 1/8 ", or the depth of a nickel: 3. Contractor will patch cracks with crack filler prior to resurfacing, and will roll entire court area with 1 �/2 tom mechanical roller to smooth surface imperfections. 4. Contractor will resurface 2 existing court areas, approximately 100' a 60', as to California Products Corporation specifications, using Plexipave materials with a 5- coat system as follows: 2 coat acrylic Resurfacer and 3 coats Fortified Plexipave (see enclosed brochure). 5. Court colors to be: and (please specify). 6. Contractor will also restripe all playing lines to meet specifications, leaving court(s) ready for play: 7. Contractor agrees to provide tools, materials, labor and supervision to complete the above work for the sum of S 6,670. 8. Customer agrees to a lump sum payment of S 6,670 upon completion of the resurfacing. 9. Customer agrees to furnish access to site for equipment and materials. 10. Contractor guarantees workmanship and materials against defects for a period of THREE YEARS, save normal wear and tear, Acts of Clod, vandalism and /or any structural damage that may be pre- existing. Contractor cannot guarantee against future or the continuation of root damage, if trees /plants are around perimeter. Nor can we guarantee against cracking caused by age of asphalt. Price subject to change if contract is not accepted within 90 days. 13. Work to commence at a date agreed upon by both parties, after Contractor receives a signed copy of this contract from Customer.
