WHEREAS, pursuant to section 200.065, Florida Statutes, tax assessments for all real
property within the jurisdiction of the City of South Miami for the fiscal year 2007/2008 has been
made by the property appraiser for Dade County; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to the above -cited statutory provision, the Mayor and City
Commission are required to adopt a tentative and thereafter a final millage rate for the taxing
jurisdiction of the City of South Miami.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA THAT:
Section 1. There shall be and hereby is levied upon real property in the City of South
Miami, Florida, a tax of 5.881- 4.818 mills on the dollar for the fiscal year 2007/2008 for the
operation expenses of the government of the City for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2007,
and ending September 30, 2008. This millage rate exceeds is less than the rollback rate by
-1-5.960% 5%.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon passage.

WHEREAS, the City Manager has submitted a proposed budget together with a budget
message and supporting schedule including a pay plan; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 200, Florida Statutes, the Mayor and City
Commission are required to adopt a tentative, and thereafter, a final budget for the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA THAT:
Section 1. The Budget for the fiscal year, as submitted by the City Manager,
including the pay plan, as filed in the City Clerk's Office, in an amount of $22,343,103
$20,819,981 be and the same is hereby approved. Independently identified as General Fund in
the amount of $20,559,772 $19,156,081, Storm Water Drain Fund in an amount of $697,155,
Local Option Gas Trust Fund in an amount of $135,646, Peoples Transportation Tax Fund in an
amount of $714,518 Self Insurance Fund in an amount of $24,000, State Forfeiture Fund in an
amount of $8,864 and Federal Forfeiture Fund in the amount of $83,717.
Section 2. If any section, clause, sentence, or phrase of this ordinance is for any
reason held invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, the holding shall not
affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance.
Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this
ordinance are repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon approved.
