APPLICANT'S REQUEST The applicant, Ms. Maria E. Jauregui has submitted Application HPB -07 -003 requesting approval for the replacement of a rear window with a door at her home located at 6251 SW 575i Street. The subject property is within the Cambridge Lawns Historic District. The Land Development Code requires that a "Certificate of Appropriateness ", be approved for any building permits affecting the exterior (renovation, repair, painting, demolition or landscaping). The approval process requires review by the Historic Preservation Board and a public hearing by the City Commission. The Commission may approve, deny, approve in modified form, or defer a COA application. HISTORIC BOARD ACTION The Historic Preservation Board reviewed the applicant's request at its February 26, 2007 meeting. The applicant stated that her home does not have a rear exit due to the existing windows. Ms. Jauregui requested the Board Members to allow her to replace an existing rear window with two doors measuring 60 inches in width by 80 inches in height allowing for a rear exit. These will be high impact glass doors with a metal frame all around. Currently the home only allows for the front entrance and a side exit. The Historic Preservation Board at its February 26, 2007, reviewed the applicant's submitted plan (see Exhibit A) and recommended approval by a vote of 6 ayes 0 nays. RECOMMENDATION Approval of a "Certificate of Appropriateness" for the window replacement/ door installation at 6251 SW 57t1i Street as shown on the Applicant's Exhibit "A" graphic illustration. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA THAT: Section 1.
