As per the proposed landscape plan that is dated December 1, 2011, the applicant is proposing to plant a total of four (4) Orange Geiger trees, three (3) Christmas Palm trees as well as four (4) Glaucous Cassia trees. Pursuant to Section 20-4.5(D)(5)(0 of the Land Development Code, palms of a ten (10) foot minimum overall height or minimum caliper of three (3) inches at time of planting shall count as a required tree on the basis of two (2) palms per tree, except as provided herein for palms used as street trees. No more than thirty (30) percent of the minimum tree requirements maybe met by palms. When applied, the palm_trees that the applicant is proposing would equal out to a total of 2Y2 hardwood trees. Therefore, even though the applicant is proposing to not plant the four (4) previously approved Gumbo Limbo trees, the applicant is proposing to provide a total of 10Y2 trees which exceeds the regulations listed in 20- 4.5(D)(5)(b) of the Land Development Code for the RO zoning district.
