Applicant's Request:
The applicant is requesting approval for the revision to the plans that were previously approved
by the Environmental Review and Preservation Board (ERPB) on October 7, 2008 for the
construction of a new one-story commercial building at the above referenced location.
Staff Analysis:
The applicant is proposing to revise the paint colors for the exterior fagade of the building. On
October 7, 2008, the ERPB approved Sherwin Williams #SW6700 (Daybreak) for the exterior
walls of the building. The applicant is proposing to change the color to Duron #DCL034 (Creek
Run). The applicant has provided a sample of the color for the ERPB to review.
The applicant is also revising both the north and the south elevation of the building. The
applicant is proposing to remove the decorative shutters that cover the windows on both the
north and south sides of the building. By removing these shutters, a greater amount of natural
light inside the building will be achieved. Next, the applicant is proposing to close in the left most
portion of the south elevation. With this portion open, rainwater enters the adjacent elevator that
leads from the parking lot underneath, causing the shaft to flood when it rains. By completing
this wall, there will be a reduction in the amount of flooding in the elevator shaft. Finally, the
applicant is proposing to install lighting on the western side of the building. The applicant will be
replacing all four of the decorative medallions with exterior wall fixtures. For comparison
purposes, the building permit set of construction documents will be available at the meeting.
Recommendation: Approval with the following conditions:
1. Approval Letter from the owner;
2. The building permit set of plans for this property must be revised to reflect the
changes listed above; and
3. Any comments and/or suggestions from-the Board.
