Miami, Florida Request: SIGNAGE INSTALLATION APPLICANT'S REQUEST: The applicant is requesting approval for an existing temporary name plate sign located at the above referenced location. STAFF ANALYSIS: The proposed signage is located in the "TODD (MU-43)" Transit Oriented Development District (Mixed Use 4) zoning use district. Pursuant to Section 20-4.3(1)(5), of the Land Development Code (LDC), a name plate sign is permitted. The following is a definition of and the regulations for a name plate sign: Definition Sign, name plate. Shall mean a sign identifying the owner or occupant of the premises or the street address of the premises and located on an entry door or directly adjacent thereto. Regulation One (1) NAME PLATE identification sign per licensed business establishment and professional license holder, not to exceed one (1) square foot in area per nameplate. Direct illumination is permitted The proposed sign is located on the metal fence directly adjacent to the main entrance to the business which is a preschool. The rust color sign with white lettering measures 1.5 square feet in area. The sign does contain additional information related to the philosophy of the school, its founding date and phone number. The sign exceeds the maximum size permitted and contains information not permitted by the Code. \1 Page 2 of 2 RECOMMENDATION The applicant should re-submit to the ERPB a revised sign plan with the following adjustments: (1) Reduce sign size to one square foot in area; (2) Remove the phone number and all other information other than the name of the business and the word Preschool; (3)The applicant may add the street address to the sign.
