Goo SUBJECT: ERPB Application EngineerifigInspec to Landscaping Project Old Inspection Station Public Works seeks approval to landscape the frontage of the City's old inspection station, which is next to the Post Office on SW 70th Street. The chain link fence has been relocated 7' back from the sidewalk in order to create an open area where landscaping can be planted. It is proposed to install Bougainvillea against the fence frontage in an alternating floral pattern. Once the Bougainvillea becomes established, the vertical face of the fence shall be effectively obscured behind the colorful leaves. The attached plan shows a change of Bougainvillea color about every 10 to 15 feet. The distance between color changes can be adjusted to match ERPB directives. You should also note that four sets of double Alexander Palms already exist in front of the inspection station—these are to remain. The long frontage of the inspection station lot makes the choice of Bougainvillea ideal; a "wall" of color can be created along SW 70th Street. The improvement in aesthetics should be dramatic.
