APPLICANT'S REQUEST:
The applicant is requesting approval for signage installation for the business "MC Auto Tech,"
located at the above referenced address.
STAFF ANALYSIS:
The proposed exterior signage is located in the TODD-1-I-4 "Transit Oriented Development
District Light Industrial 4." Pursuant to Section 20-4.3(1)(5) All other Zoning Districts, of the Land
Development Code (LDC), signage is permitted as follows:
FLAT FLAT signs with a total aggregate sign area, not to exceed twenty(20)percent of the area
of any building face;.for the purposes of sign regulation; there shall be considered to be
only four (4) facades to any building; no single sign shall exceed two hundred (200),
square feet in area. Direct illumination is.permitted.
The proposed signage will be located on the front fagade of the building visible from SW 701h
Street. The sign consists of painted letters in black on a white background. In color the
American flag and the Japanese flag on the right side. The new proposed signage will read
"MC" at 12 inch letters, followed by "AUTO TECH" at 8 inch bold letters in caps. The phone
number is below at 3 inches in height and has been previously approved. The applicant
received approval for the sign at his previous address located at 5844 Commerce Lane. Overall
dimensions of the proposed new sign (same as the previous) 3 feet (h) x 10 feet (w) at 30
square feet, not exceeding the 20 percent maximum allowable building face of144 square feet.
Refer to the installation detail for specifications and color has been submitted and will be
presented at the meeting.
At this time, the applicant seeks signage approval from the ERPB.
RECOMMENDATION: Approval with conditions:
1)Approval letter from property owner and;
2)Any comments and/or concerns by the Board.
