SOUTH MIAMI STATION_PB-82-20 MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING PLANNING BOARD , CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI NOVEMBER 30 , 1982 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Bernard Michelson at 7 : 30 P. M. The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America . was followed by the roll. call . PRESENT: Bernard Michelson Claire Abbott Edward H . Coburn Lee R. Perry Reverend C . E . Standifer Ronald K. Smith ABSENT : John R. Shaw Mr . Carter McDowell , Director , Building , Zoning and Community Development_ Dept . , was also present. Chairman Michelson announced that Public Hearing #82-22 ,. applicant Jose E . Valdes , would have to be deferred until the next meeting of December 14 , 1982 because certain obligations of the county have not been passed in time . Therefore , this hearing would not be held at this meeting . Public Hearing #82-2 Netropolitan Dade County Request : Approval of Final Plat of South Miami Station . Legal Description: Tract 3 , Amended Plat of Commercial Larkins , PB 38/5 . Location : S . W. 70th Street, S . W . 59th Place and U . S . #1 . Chairman Michelson stated the public hearing was -open and asked if there was anyone present .wishing to speak for or against the approval. of the final plat. There being no one caring to speak , -Chairman Michelson deemed the public hearing closed MOTION : By Mr. Smith , seconded by Mr.- Perry , to approve the Final Plat of South Miami Station . VOTE ON MOTION : Yes 6 MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY . Public .Hearing #82-21 Michael A. Jullie Request : Change of zoning from RB-6T (Townhouse-Duplex) to RO, ( Residential Office ) . Legal Description : Lots 5 , 6 , 7 and 8 , Beaver. Homesites Subdivision , PB 41 /69 . Location : The east side of S . W. 63rd Avenue between S . W. 72nd Street and S . W. 73rd Street. Chairman Michelson stated the public hearing was open and . asked if there was anyone present wishing to speak for or against the request of the applicant. Mr. Douglas Erickson of 7600 Red Road spoke in favor of granting the request explaining it was in compliance with the Comprehensive Plan and it was the intention of the owner to build four buildings , residential in design., for professional office usage . There is a buffer strip of 25 feet in the front which will be fully landscaped with all of the parking in the rear. There being no one else caring to- speak for or against the request of the applicant , Chairman Michelson deemed the public hearing closed . A discussion ensued. MOTION : By Mrs . Abbott , seconded by Mr . Smith , to approve the change of zoning . VOTE ON MOTION : Yes - 6 MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY . EXECUTIVE SESSION : MOTION : By Mr. Perry, seconded by Reverend Standifer , to approve the minutes of the meeting. of November 9,, 1982 as read . VOTE ON MOTION : Yes - 5 Abstained - 1 (Smith ) MOTION CARRIED . Reverend Stand.ifer asked to be excused from attending the meeting of December 14 , 1982 . It was agreed to further study : the matter and discuss it at a future Planning Board meeting . The meeting adjourned at 8 : 20 P . M.
