WHEREAS, First Round Management (the "Applicant") submitted a special event application to the City of South Miami (the "City") to host the Jayden Higgins Youth Football Camp on Sunday, May 19, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. -1 :00 p.m. at Palmer Park (the "Event"); and WHEREAS, the application for the Event was approved on May 15, 2024 pursuant to Section 15B-6 of the City Code; and WHEREAS, a request has been made for a retroactive fee waiver in the amount of $1,489.30, inclusive of field rental fees at Palmer Park ($1,329.30), admin fees ($60), and special event application fee ($100). The applicable Event fees are as follows: APPLICABLE EVENT FEES AMOUNT ADMINISTRATIVE $100 APPLICATION $60 PALMER PARK FIELD RENTAL FEES ~t329.30 TOTAL FEES TO BE WAIVED ~1.482.39 RECREATIONAL STAFF (1) STAFF $280 POLICE DEPT. -PAID THROUGH ROLLKALL {I OFFICER) $253 REFUNDABLE SECURITY DEPOSIT $500 ;and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 15B-6(1 I) of the City Code, the City Commission may waive event-related fees and costs imposed pursuant to Section 15B-6; and WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to retroactively approve the waiver of event- related fees and costs for the Event as set forth herein; and WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that this Resolution is in the best interest and welfare of the City. Res . No. 067-24-1 6 172 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Recitals. The above-stated recitals are true and correct and are incorporated herein by this reference .. Section 2. Waiver' of Fee. Pursuant to Section 15B-6(11) of the City Code, the City Commission hereby retroactively waives event-related fees and costs for the Event in the amount of $1,489.30 . Section 3. Applicability of All Othel' Requirements. Except as waived and provided for herein , all other requirements of the Code remain applicable to the Event, and the City Manager shall ensure compliance with all Code requirem ents . Section 4. Implementation. The City Manager is authorized to take any and all actions necessary to implement the purposes of this Resolution. Section 5. Corrections. Conforming language or technical scrivener-type corrections may be made by the City Attorney for any conforming amendments to be incorporated into the final re soluti on for signature.
