A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI,
FLORIDA, AMENDING FINAL PLAT APPLICATION PB-
22-01S TO IDENTIFY THE EAST 112 FEET OF THE
SUBJECT PROPERTY AS A SEPARATE PARCEL FROM
THE REMAINDER AND DESIGNATING SUCH PARCEL
FOR PARK PURPOSES, DESIGNATING THE REMAINDER
OF THE PLAT FOR DEVELOPMENT OF AFFORDABLE
AND/OR WORKFORCE HOUSING PURPOSES;
DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO PURSUE
DEVELOPMENT OF THE REMAINDER PARCEL FOR
AFFORDABLE AND/OR WORKFORCE HOUSING;
PROVIDING FOR IMPLEMENTATION, CORRECTIONS,
AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on December 20, 2022, the Mayor and City Commission of the City of South
Miami (the "City") approved final plat application no. PB-22-015 (the "Final Plat Application")
to allow a replat of three City-owned parcels identified as folio numbers 09-4025-000-0850, 09-
4025-065-0090, and 09-4025-000-0852, which are generally located south of SW 64th Terrace
and between SW 60th Avenue and SW 61st Court/aka SW 61 st D1ive Court; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to amend the Final Plat Application to identify
two parcels and designate their respective use as follows: (I) the east 112 feet of the parcel
identified as Folio No. 09-4025-000-0850 designated for park pu1poses (the "Park Parcel''), and
(2) the remainder of the plat to designated for development of affordable and/or workforce housing
purposes (the "Remainder Parcel"); and
WHEREAS, the City Commission further desires to direct the City Manager to pursue
development of the Remainder Parcel for affordable and/or workforce housing through available
strategies, such as procurement methods. public-private partnerships, sale, or lease of the Remainder
Parcel; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission fmds that this Resolution is in the best interest and
welfare of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Recitals. The above-stated recitals are true and correct and are incorporated
herein by this reference.
Section 2. Amendment of Final Plat Application. The City Commission hereby
approves amending the Final Plat Application to create the Park Parcel designated for park
purposes, and the Remainder Parcel for affordable and/or workforce housing purposes.

Section 3. Authorization. The City Commission hereby directs the City Manager to
pursue development of the Remainder Parcel for affordable and/or workforce housing. The City
Manager is encouraged to consider available strategies, including but not Limited to procurement
methods. public-private partners hips, sa le, or leas e of the Remainder Parcel, to develop the site with
affordable and/or workforce hou s ing .
Section 4. Implementation. The City Manager is hereby authorized to take all actions
necessa ry to implement the purposes and intent of this Resolution.
Section 5. Corrections. Conforming language or technical scrivener-type corrections
may be made by the City Attorney for any conforming amendments to be incorporated into the
final resolution for signature.

Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
