06-1948-001GENERAL NOTES-1:
1. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VISIT THE SITE AND BECOME FAMILIAR WITH THE
SCOPE OF THE WORK PRIOR TO BEGINNING OF CONSTRUCTION.
2. THE DRAWINGS ARE NOT TO BE SCALED. USE FIGURED DIMENSIONS ONLY.
LARGE SCALE DRAWINGS SHALL GOVERN OVER SMALLER SCALE DRAWINGS. THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL FIELD VERIFY ALL DIMENSIONS AND CONDITIONS. iN THE
EVENT OF CONFLICT THE ARCHITECT SHALL BE NOTIFIED PRIOR TO PROCEEDING
WITH THE WORK.
3. ALL WORK SHALL BE DONE IN STRICT ACCORDANCE WITH THE BEST
PRACTICES OF THE CONSTRUCTION TRADE AND SHALL BE PERFORMED IN A
PROFESSIONAL AND WORKMAN -LIKE MANNER. ANY WORK COMPLETED IN A
NON-PROFESSIONAL MANNER SHALL BE REJECTED AND SHALL BE REDONE BY
THE CONTRACTOR AT NO EXTRA COST TO THE OWNER.
4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL TAKE ALL NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT
PROPERTY, FURNISHINGS AND EQUIPMENT IN THOSE AREAS WHERE WORK IS
BEING CONDUCTED. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES
DONE TO EXISTING SPACES AND EQUIPMENT DUE TO CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS.
5. ALL WORK PERFORMED UNDER THIS CONTRACT SHALL COMPLY WITH ALL
NATIONAL, STATE AND LOCAL CODES AND REGULATIONS HAVING JURISDICTION
AND WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE UTILITY COMPANIES WHOSE SERVICES
SHALL BE USED. ALL MODIFICATIONS REQUIRED BY THESE BODIES SHALL BE
MADE BY THE CONTRACTOR AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE.
6. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY THE LOCATION OF UNDERGROUND UTILITES
PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION. PRIOR TO EXCAVATION OPERATIONS THE CONTRACTOR
SHALL CONTACT THE UTILITY COMPANIES FOR UNDERGROUND UTILITY LOCA11ON
AND INFORMATION.
7. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE ALL NEW ELECTRICAL SERVICES WITH
THE LOCAL POWER AND LIGHT COMPANY.
8. ALL MATERIALS FURNISHED AT THE JOB SITE SHALL BE NEW AND FREE FROM
DEFECTS, AND SHALL BE STORED IN THE SITE IN SUCH A MANNER AS TO
PROTECT THEM FROM DAMAGE AND THE ELEMENTS.
9. DO NOT SCALE DRAWINGS TO OBTAIN DIMENSIONAL INFORMATION.
10. SEE ARCHITECTURAL DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR
WATERPROOFING AND FIRE PROOFING DETAILS AND REQUIREMENTS.
11. AT ALL TIMES THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE
FOR THE CONDITIONS OF THE JOB SITE INCLUDING SAFETY PERSON AND
PROPERTY THE ARCHITECTS OR ENGINEER'S PRESENCE OR REVIEW OF
WORK DOES NOT INCLUDE THE ADEQUACY OF THE CONTRACTOR'S
12. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT SIZES, VOLTAGE,
CURRENT CHARACTERISTICS, ETC. BEFORE ORDERING ANY EQUIPMENT. THE
ARCHITECT SHALL BE NOTIFIED OF ANY CONFLICTS BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH
THE ELECTRICAL WORK.
13. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY THE SIZE OF THE EXISTING ELECTRICAL
SERVICE AND UPGRADE IF REQUIRED. THE NEW ELECTRICAL PANEL SHALL BE AS
PER THE CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS.
14. SUBSTITUTIONS OF SPECIFIED PRODUCTS AND/OR MATERIALS SHALL BE
SUBMITTED TO THE ARCHITECT IN WRITTEN FORM AND SHALL BE SUBJECT TO
APPROVAL BY OWNER/ARCHITECT.
15. AFTER COMPLETION OF THE WORK THE WORK SITE SHALL BE LEFT CLEAN
AND FREE OF PLASTER, CONCRETE OR PAINT SMEARS, ALL CONSTRUCTION
DEBRIS SHALL BE HAULED AWAY AND THE BUILDING AND SURROUNDING AREAS
SHALL BE BROOM CLEANED.
16. THESE DRAWINGS ARE INSTRUMENTS FOR CONSTRUCTION AND REMAIN THE
SOLE PROPERTY OF THE ARCHITECT. ANY REPRODUCTION OF THE SAID DRAWINGS
WITHOUT THE EXPRESSED APPROVAL OF THE ARCHITECT IS PROHIBITED.
17. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY ALL DIMENSIONS AND BUILDING ELEVATIONS
PRIOR TO BEGINNING OF THE WORK.
18. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR FILING, SECURING AND
PA11NG FOR ALL BUILDING PERMITS AND FEES.
19. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING ALL THE
NECESSARY TEMPORARY LIGHT, WATER AND HVAC TO ACCOMPLISH THE WORK.
20. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE NTH THE (OWNER, TENANT, ETC.)
ACCESS HOURS AND PATH OF ACCESS TO THE WORK SITE, LOADING AND
MATERIALS STORAGE AREAS, WEIGHT LIMITS, EQUIPMENT AND OTHER OPERATIONS
RELATED AND SUBJECT TO THE WORK.
PRODUCT CONTROL APPROVAL AND A SEPARATE BUILDING PERMIT WILL BE REQUIRED
AS COMFORM WITH THE F.B.C. ( WHEN APPLICABLE) FOR:
- WINDOWS - RAILING AND HANDRAILS - STEEL JOISTS
- DOORS - ROOFING - RIDGE VENTILATION
- WOOD TRUSSES - FENCES - PRECAST SYSTEMS
- STORM SHUTTERS - SIGNS - STOREFRONT
