Dimensions and style of lettering and signage 4' E R P B -- Environmental Review and Preservation Board INSTRUCTIONS TO APPLICANTS, SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS AND GUIDELINES 1. All construction and improvements visible from any public or private street must be approved by the Environmental Review and Preservation Board (ERPB). 2. Each sheet of plans for any improvement estimated at $15,000 or greater, including labor, materials and services, shall bear the date and the impress seal and signature of a licensed, professional architect or engineer, in accordance with the South Florida Building Code. 3. All applications are reviewed for accuracy, completeness and compliance with City of South Miami's Land Development Code. If a problem is found with'an application, the applicant will be notified as soon as possible. Problems that are not resolved before the Thursday prior to the meeting will result in the exclusion of that application from the upcoming 'agenda. 4. Neither applicants nor their representatives are required to attend the ERPB meeting. However,the chances , of receiving approval are much greater if someone is present at the meeting to answer questions about the project and is authorized to make corrections or modifications to the plans. It is RECOMMENDED that architects and engineers present their projects in person before the Board. i 5. APPROVAL BY THE ERPB IS NOT AUTHORIZATION TO BEGIN CONSTRUCTION. You must obtain a valid Building Permit after receiving approval from ERPB. All applications for Building Permits will be processed after a seven day appeal period before which no permit can be issued. 6. In order to allow the entire process to proceed as quickly as possible, you may submit a completed Building Permit Application when you apply to appear before the ERPB. Those plans submitted without complete Building Permit Applications will be disposed of sixty (60) days after being reviewed by the ERPB. 7. Final approval by the ERPB shall lapse after six (6) months if no permit is issued, except as may be ` extended by the ERPB for a period of not to exceed six (6) months. 8. April �1 , 1994 . The following o, recommendations are. made relative to that survey : 1 . An eight-foot high wrought Iron Icket fence should be Installed on the entire perimeter of the HUD property . Inves- tigations have revealed a history of tr6spas-sing, loitering and unlawful drug activity on the HUD property. These activities most often occurred on the southwest corner of the Complex on Southwest 68 street , just east of Southwest 59 PIROO. A neighborhood convenience Store known as ! South Miami Market , at 5950 Southwest e8 Street , Is located across the street In this area . On numerous occasions, patrons of that store have been observed crossing the street and W IterIng on the HUD property while consuming alcoholic beverages land participating In unlawful drug activity. Detective Ogle observed several small Plastic bags of the type commonly used as containers for crack cocaine on the . ground In the southwest corner of the HUD complex . 'In this area the driveway entrance to the extreme southwest HUD parking lot on Southwest 68 Street has been blocked by curb stones and approximately 230 ilnear feet of fence construction which, at this time , Includes the Instal - lation of fence posts only , The fence posts have been In- stalled on the western boundary of the second HUD parking lot entrance from the west , on Southwest 68 Street and continue westward along the southern boundary of the HUD complex and then north to the south side of the extreme southwest units In the complex . The parking lot In this area has been expanded by connecting it with the adjacent lot to the east and by adding Curbing . It has been modified to prov!Jde an enlarged single parking Area which was previously confl''pured as two separate parking areas . Additionally, some large shade trees were removed from this area. These modifications have resulted In a reduction in the criminal activity prevl usly occurring at this site .
