B. FLAME AND SMOKE RATING: ALL INSULATION PRODUCTS AND MATERIALS USED FOR THIS PROJECT SHALL HAVE A MAXIMUM FLAME SPREAD AND SMOKE

PARTITION OR FIRE WALL (PROVIDE ACCESS) REQUIRED BY BUILDING CODES
30. ALL DUCT AND PIPE PENETRATIONS OF EXISTING FIRE RATED PARTITIONS SHALL BE SEALED WITH APPROVED FIRE RATED SEALANT TO MAINTAIN THE INTEGRITY
OF THE SYSTEM.
31. CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH THE OWNER WITH ALL OPERATING MANUALS AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS FOR EQUIPMENT INSTALLED. MANUALS SHALL BE
BOUNDED IN THREE RING LOOSE LEAVE BINDERS AND INDEX BY PRODUCT TYPE. ALSO A SECTION WITHIN THE MANUAL SHALL BE INDEX WITH NAME, TELEPHONE
NUMBER AND ADDRESS OF ALL LOCAL SUPPUERS OF ALL MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT INSTALLED TOGETHER NTH NAME, TELEPHONE AND ADDRESS OF ALL
CONTRACTORS OF THE PROJECT.
32. CONTRACTOR SHALL GUARANTEE ALL WORK INSTALLED UNDER THE CONTRACT TO BE FREE FROM DEFECTIVE WORKMANSHIP, AND MATERIALS, USUAL WEAR
EXPECTED, AND SHOULD ANY SUCH DEFECTS DEVELOP WITHIN A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR AFTER ACCEPTANCE OF THE BUILDING BY THE OWNER CONTRACTOR
SHALL REPAIR AND/OR REPLACE ANY DEFECTIVE ITEMS AND ALL DAMAGE RESULTING FROM FAILURE OF THESE ITEMS, AT NO EXPENSE WHATSOEVER TO THE

1. FIRE DAMPER SLEEVE CLEARENCE WITHIN WALL OPENING
Clearance requirements for damper sleeves within a wall opentnngs
are based on Y" per foot of Width (or height) unless other Wise stated In the listing of the assembly.
The sleeve may rest on the bottom of the opening, and need not be centered. (Fractional dimensions
shall be taken as the next largest foot).
The sleeve is retained In the wall opening by the use of steel retaining angles (A). These must over -lap
the edge of the framing by a minimum of one (1) Inch over and beyond all material in the opening. This
means that the minimum width of the retaining angle would be 1%" ( good practice calls for an additional
safety factor by making the angle in this case 1 V22" wide).
The dimensions required for the opening shall be those remaining after the opening has been framed
and fire resistive materials provided where required. The fire resistive material shall be equal to the
requirements for fire resistive material used in the constructed wall so that a continuous rating exists at
the wall penetration. The contractor erecting the wall Is responsible for providing the fire resistive
material and correct size openings to achieve the required clearance.
