STAFF ANALYSIS The applicant is proposing to install signage that consists of one (1) wall sign for the business known as the "Children's Rehab Network." Located above the entrance into the building, the wall sign that the applicant is proposing will read "Children's Rehab Network" in blue lettering on top of a white background, with the company logo to the right of the name. Also shown on the proposed sign will be the telephone number of the business, "305-270-9026" which will be colored white on top of a blue background. Considered to be a flat sign, Section 20- 4.3(1)(5) of the Land Development Code provides the following regulations for flat signs: FLAT SIGNS with a total aggregate sign area, not to exceed twenty (20) percent of the area of any building face; for the purposes of sign regulation, there shall be considered to be only four (4) facades to any building; no single sign shall exceed two hundred (200) square feet in area. Direct illumination is permitted. The proposed non illuminated flat sign will measure out to be forty-eight (48) inches high by sixty-four (64) inches wide, which approximately equals twenty-one (21) square feet in area and will be frame mounted directly to the wall of the building using four (4) tapcon screws. After reviewing the project, it was found that with the removal of the telephone number, the proposed flat sign complies with the regulations listed in Section 20-4.3(1)(5) of the Land Development Code. RECOMMENDATION: Approval with the following conditions: 1. The portion of the signage that reads "305-270-9026" is considered to be advertising and must be removed; 2. Approval letter from the owner; and 3. Any comments and/or suggestions from the Board.
