Homestead and Miami-Dade County have a long history of supporting HARB and its missions. The
South Florida community has unmatched quality of life opportunities for personnel and their families.
Additionally, the County has uniquely taken great care in creating buffer zones and minimizing
encroachment concerns . HARB can best meet the F-35 basing requirements at the lowest cost to the
taxpayer and has unparalleled training infrastructure and airspace.
The support for Homestead and its enduring role in enhancing our defense establishment is broadly
felt across the surrounding communities that our Airmen call home in South Florida. I, along with a
broad coalition of local and municipal leaders, urge South Florida's Federal legislative delegation to
show the same unity in ensuring this vital asset remains in our region.
Thank you for your consideration and leadership in service to our country.
Sincerely,
Daniella Levine Cava
Mayor of Miami-Dade County
