Miami, FL Request: SIGNAGE INSTALLATION APPLICANT'S REQUEST: The applicant is requesting approval for signage installation for the existing business "Mike's BMW Service," located at the above referenced address. STAFF ANALYSIS: The proposed exterior signage is located in the. TODD-1-I-4 "Transit Oriented Development District Light Industrial 4." Pursuant to Section 20-4.3(1)(5) All other Zoning Districts, of the Land Development Code (LDC), signage is permitted as follows: FLAT FLAT signs with a total aggregate sign area, not to exceed twenty(20)percent of the area of any building face; for the purposes of sign regulation, there shall be considered to be only four (4) facades to any building, no single sign shall exceed two hundred(200), square feet in area. Direct illumination is permitted. The proposed signage will be located on the front fagade of the building facing SW 68" Street. The sign consists of painted letters in blue "imron" and mounted with 3/16" studs to the existing wall of the building. Refer to the installation detail for specifications. The new proposed signage will read "Mike's" in 12 inch cursive letters at a slight angle, followed by "BMW SERVICE" in 15 inch bold letters in caps. Overall dimensions are 15" (h) x 17'-0" (w) at 21.25 square feet, not exceeding the 20 percent maximum allowable building face of 48 square feet. At this time, the applicant seeks signage approval from the ERPB. RECOMMENDATION: Approval with conditions: 1) Approval letter from property owner and; 2) Existing specialty sign be removed, advertising is not permitted.
