Res No 042-21-15662RESOLUTION NO. 042-21-15662 A Resolution of the Mayor and Commission supporting the National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI) and encouraging others to register for a NAMI Walk. WHEREAS, May is National Mental Health Awareness Month; and WHEREAS, NAMI is the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness; and WHEREAS, NAMI is an alliance of more than 600 local affiliates who work to raise awareness and provide support and education that was not previously available to those in need; and WHEREAS, NAMI hosts "NAMIWalks Your Way, A United Day of Hope' on May 22n1 where there are several walks, including virtual walks around the country; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Commission encourage residents and staff to register for the event supporting NAMI's mission. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA THAT: Section 1. The foregoing recitals are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and they are incorporated into this resolution by reference as if set forth in full herein. Section 2. The Mayor and Commission support the National Alliance for Mental Illness and encourage others to register for a NAMI walk in the month of May. Section 3. Corrections. Conforming language or technical scrivener -type corrections may be made by the City Attorney for any conforming amendments to be incorporated into the final resolution for signature. Section 4. Severability. If any section clause, sentence, or phrase of this resolution is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, the holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this resolution.
