Ord No 03-21-2393ORDINANCE NO.03-21-2393 An Ordinance related to the fee schedule; amending Ordinance 21-20-2375 to add new fees related to the tennis fee schedule at Dante Fascell Park for new evening court fees. WHEREAS, on August 18, 2020, the Mayor and City Commission approved of a Resolution #107- 20-15547, authorizing the City Manager to enter into an agreement with Electrical Contracting Service, Inc. for new tennis court lighting and other improvements at Dante Fascell Park; and WHEREAS, construction commenced on Monday, January 4, 2021 and is expected to be completed by mid -February 2021; and WHEREAS, staff conducted an assessment of evening rental fees for both public and private tennis facilities in the area; and WHEREAS, on average, at public court facilities, residents pay $7.03 per hour and non-residents pay $7.83 per hour. At private courts, guests pay $10 per hour; and WHEREAS, based upon the data above, staff recommends adding a new category and fee for evening court rentals at the rate (per hour) of $5 for seniors, $6 for residents, and $9 for non-residents; and WHEREAS, a copy of the current tennis fee schedule are attached to the agenda item hereto. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The foregoing recitals are hereby ratified and incorporated by reference as if fully set forth herein and as the legislative intent of this Ordinance. Section 2.
