A Resolution relating to the cost of the February 11, 2020 General Election3
for the City of South Miami; approving the expenditure of $30,598.87 for the4
election costs.5

WHEREAS,the City Commission of the City of South Miami approved $40,000.00 with7
the FY 2019-2020, budgeted to cover the cost of the 2020 General Election of the Mayor and8
City Commissioners for Group II and III; and9

WHEREAS,the City has received an invoice from the Miami-Dade County Elections11
Department totaling $30,598.87.12

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY 14
COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA:15

Section 1.The foregoing recitals are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and they 17
are incorporated into this resolution by reference as if set forth in full herein.18

Section 2.The City Manager is hereby authorized to pay the invoice for election costs20
received from Miami-Dade County Elections Department for the February 11, 2020 South21
Miami General Election in the total amount of $30,598.87; charging account no. 001-1200-512-22
4920 (Elections), with a balance of $39,980.00.23

Section 3.Corrections.Conforming language or technical scrivener-type corrections 25
may be made by the City Attorney for any conforming amendments to be incorporated into the 26
final resolution for signature.27

Section 4. Severability.If any section clause, sentence, or phrase of this resolution is for 29
any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, the holding shall 30
not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this resolution.31

Section 5. Effective Date.This resolution shall become effective immediately upon 33
adoption.34
