WIECHERS May 7, 1965 City of South Miami Planning and Zoning Board South Miami, Florida 33143 IN RE: Hearings 65 - 9 65 - 10 Gentlemen: As the owner of the property located at 6740 Southwest 67 Street I hereby object to the proposed change of zoning from EU-1 to EU-1A for the properties located at approximately 6830 and 6890 Southwest 67 Street. At the time I purchased my property I was attracted by the size of the present properties and the zoning thereof. It is my belief to change this zoning for any reason would decrease the value of the property that I own. The other reasons are that smaller lots in the area would detract from the appearance that has been generated by the present zoning. Further, it is my feeling that this may be a step toward relaxing_even further the zoning in the general area of my property. The area now has a country look with an exclusive appearance. Any further density of population, I feel, would destroy this atmosphere. Checking on the number of small children in the area it is now an ideal location because of the lack of traffic, large sized lots and country atmosphere. Any change from the present zoning would destroy this. Gentlemen.: I have requested that my property, which is at the East 143' of Tract 3, Nelson Homesites, Plat Book 39, Page 57, located between S. W. 67th. Street and S. W. 68th Street, be rezoned from one acre estate to one-half acre estates. This zoning change which I have requested would then permit the development.of .my property so that ther-e would be a lot facing S. W. 67th Street of the dimensions of 143' on the street by 150' depth and also a lot facing S. W. 68th.Street of 143' on the street with a depth of 1501. This is the natural development of this area at the present time due to the fact that all property south of S. W. 68th Street is now fully developed in. one-half acre estates and the area that I own is. bounded on_both sides by a fully developed street. The location of the land and its shape is not conducive to the development of it as an acre estate as is the adjoining property to the West of my property. This entire area is waiting to be developed and probably would be developed if this- particular portion that lies- between. 67th Street and 68th Street were re-zoned in. its entirety for one-half acre estates.
