FLUSHING CONNECTION SHALL BE PROVIDED AS REQUIRE BYNFPA 13 2002
SECTION 8.14,16.1, 8.14.16.2, 8.14.16.3 AND 8.14.16.4.
DUE TO NATURE OF THE GRID SYSTEM FLUSHING THE BRANCH LINE
THROUGH THE OUTBOARD SPRINKLERS IT CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT THE
BRANCH LINE WAS FLUSHED AT THE REQUIRE FLOW FOR THE REASON
MENTIONED ABOVE THE FLUSHING CONNECTION SHALL BE LOCATED
BETWEEN THE PRIMARY AND SECONDARY CROSS -MAIN
THE FLUSHING CONNECTION SHALL BE LOCATED CLOSE TO THE SECONDARY CRO'
MAIN, THE REMOVABLE PIECE OF PIPE SHALL BE LONG ENOUGH TO FACILITATE THE
FLUSHING WHEN REQUIRE AND THE INSPECTION OF THE PIPE INTERIOR EVERY FIVE
YEARS AS REQUIRE BY
NFPA 25 2002 SECTION 13.2.1, 13.2.3.2
(SEE SKETCH BELOW FOR A SUGGESTED ARRANGEMENT)
13.2.1 An investigation ofpiping and branch line conditions shall be
conducted every 5 years by opening aflushing connection at the end of
one main and by removing a sprinkler toward the end of one branch line
for the purpose of investigating for the presence of foreign organic and
inorganic material.
13.2.3.21nternal inspections shall be accomplished by examining the
interior OF 711E following four points:
(1) System valve
(2) Riser
(3) Cross main
(4) Branch line
