A Resolution deferring the second reading of the Fellowship Church3
proposed amendments to the Future Land Use Map of the City of South 4
Miami’s Comprehensive Plan and the zoning map concerning the Fellowship 5
Church property generally located northwest of the intersection of SW 72nd 6
Street and SW 67th Avenue. 7

WHEREAS, on April 17th, 2018. the Commission deferred the second reading of the 9
two ordinances for Fellowship Church until May 15th; and10

WHEREAS,the attorney for the applicant has sent the Planning and Zoning Director a 12
written request to defer these items since the Fellowship Church will not be able to submit the 13
requested revisions in time for that meeting; and14

WHEREAS,in light of this request the ordinances in question were not advertised for 16
the May 15, 2018 Commission meeting; and17

WHEREAS,the City Manager, at the May 15, 2018 Commission meeting indicated that 19
the City should defer the second reading until the June 19
th, 2018, City Commission meeting; 20
and21

WHEREAS,at the June 19, 2018 Commission meeting, on information from the 23
applicant, the City Manager requested that these items should be defer for second reading until 24
the August 7, 2018, City Commission meeting; and25

WHEREAS,on information from the applicant, the City Manager is now requesting that 27
these items should be defer for second reading until the September, 2018, City Commission 28
meeting; and29

WHEREAS, Section 20-5.5 (E) (4) authorizes the City Commission to defer an item and 31
it provides that “[a] request for deferral made by the city manager, planning director, planning 32
board, or city commission and shall not be subject to the requirements set forth above in 33
subsections 20-5.6(E)(1)(2)(3). 34

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY 36
COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA:37

Section 1. The application of the Fellowship Church and the 2nd reading of the following 39
ordinances are hereby deferred to September 18, 2018:40

An Ordinance Adopting a Small-Scale Amendment to the Future Land Use Map of the 42
City of South Miami’s Comprehensive Plan, amending the designation of an 43
approximately 2.60-acre property generally located northwest of the intersection of SW 44
72nd Street and SW 67th Avenue, and as legally described herein, from Religious to 45
Multiple Family Residential (Four Story); and46

An Ordinance amending the Official Zoning Map, amending the designation of an 2
approximately 2.60-acre property generally located northwest of the intersection of SW 3
72nd Street and SW 67th Avenue, as legally described herein, from “R” Religious to 4
“RM-18” Low Density Multi-Family Residential.5

Section 2. Severability. If any section clause, sentence, or phrase of this resolution is for 7
any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, the holding shall 8
not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this resolution.9

Section 3. Effective Date. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon 11
adoption.12
