V. FIRE ALARM INSTALLATION & OPERATION NOTES: SCOPE OF WORK: 1. THIS IS A CERTIFICATED CENTRAL STATION FIRE ALARM SYSTEM WITH HORN STROBE NOTIFICATION, 24 HOUR STANBY AND 2 LINE DACT FOR EMERGENCY FORCES NOTIFICATION. , 2. INSTALL NEW EST (QS1) FIRE ALARM CONTROL PANEL, (BPS6A) REMOTE POWER SUPPLY, INITIATING AND NOTIFICATION DEVICES AS SHOWN ON ) FLOOR PLAN AND RISER DIAGRAM. SYSTEM WILL BE CONNECTED TO BASE BUILDING FIRE ALARM SYSTEM. OCCUPANCY INFORMATION: 2 E(2003). HIS IS A =NE =OCCU=Y.' =�Al T E 12 1 2. THE SIZE OF THIS OCCUPANCY IS APPROXAM UARE FEET (SINGLE STORY). THIS OCCUPANCY I FULLY SPRINKLED AND MONITORED BYBUILDINGS BASE FACP. SEQUENCE OF OPERATION: G' G� ;• -� �f,'fj•'t,i' 1. UPON THE ACTIVATION OF A CEILING SMOKE DETECTOR OR A CEILING HEAT DETECTOR ON ANY LEVEL THE FACP WILL ACTIVATE GENERAL ALARM TURNING ON ALL THE AUDIBLE / VISUAL NOTIFICATION DEVICES ON ALL LEVELS, THE SIGA -CR RELAYS WILL SHUT DOWN ALL AHUS OVER 2000 CFM, CLOSE THE FSD'S ON ALL LEVELS AND DE- ENERGIZE ALL MAGLOCKS. THE FACP AND ANNUNCIATOR WILL DISPLAY THE ALARM LOCATION ILLUMINATE THE ALARM LED AND THE DIALER WILL CALL THE LISTED CENTRAL STATION THAT WILL DISPATCH EMERGENCY FORCES. 2. UPON THE ACTIVATION OF A MANUAL PULL STATION ON ANY LEVEL THE FACP WILL ACTIVATE GENERAL ALARM TURNING ON ALL THE AUDIBLE / VISUAL NOTIFICATION DEVICES ON ALL LEVELS, CONTROL RELAYS WILL SHUT DOWN ALL AHUS OVER 2000 CFM, CLOSE THE FSD'S ON ALL LEVELS AND DE- ENERGIZE ALL MAGLOCKS. THE FACP AND ANNUNCIATOR WILL DISPLAY THE ALARM LOCATION ILLUMINATE THE ALARM LED AND THE DIALER WILL CALL THE LISTED CENTRAL STATION THAT WILL DISPATCH EMERGENCY FORCES. 3. UPON THE ACTIVATION OF THE ALARM SILENCE SWITCH AT THE FACP ALL AUDIBLE / VISUAL NOTIFICATION DEVICES ON ALL LEVELS WILL TURN OFF. ANY NEW ALARMS DETECTED AFTER THE NOTIFICATION DEVICES HAVE BEEN SILENCED WILL REACTIVATE THE AUDIBLE / VISUAL DEVICES ON ALL LEVELS. SPRINKLER WATER FLOW ALARMS CANNOT BE SILENCED UNTIL THE WATER FLOW IS SHUT OFF. 4. THE FACP WILL MONITOR THE SYSTEM FOR REMOVED DEVICES, OPEN FIELD WIRING, GROUNDS ON SYSTEM WIRING, AC POWER FAILURE, LOW BATTERY VOLTAGE AND PHONE LINES 1 & 2 TROIUBLE. ALL SYSTEM TROUBLES WILL INDICATE A ALARM AT THE FACP. THE DIALER WILL CALL THE LISTED CENTRAL STATION THAT WILL DISPATCH THE ALARM SERVICE COMPANY. POWER SUPPLY OPERATION: 1. EACH REMOTE NOTIFICATION POWER SUPPLY WILL ANNUNCIATE ONLY ONE SYSTEM TROUBLE MESSAGE AT THE FACP FOR THE FOLLOWING ABNORMAL CONDITIONS; REMOVED DEVICES OR OPEN WIRING FOR ARE SERVED AC POWER LOSS, BATTERY TROUBLE AND GROUND FAULT. WHEN A REMOTE POWER SUPPLY TROUBLE IS DISPLAYED AT THE FACP THE RESPONDING PERSONAL MUST USE THE LED INDICATORS AT THE REMOTE POWER SUPPLIES TO DETERMINE THE SPECIFIC TROUBLE CONDITION. PS SIGNALING WILL NOT PROVIDE INDIVIDUAL TROUBLE ANNUNCIATION AT THE FACP. INSTALLATION NOTES: 1. THIS IS A COMPLETE NEW POWER LIMITED ADDRESSABLE FIRE ALARM SYSTEM. 2. THIS IS A CERTIFICATED CENTRAL STATION SERVICE SYSTEM WITH 24 HOUR STAND-BY BATTERIES. 3. LOCATE ALL CEILING TYPE DETECTORS AT LEAST T AWAY FROM ALL AC DIFFUSERS AND DOORS. 4. THE MANUAL PULL STATIONS WILL BE INSTALLED AT 48" FROM THE FLOOR TO CENTER OF THE DEVICE. 5. THE AUDIBLE / VISUAL NOTIFICATION APPLIANCES IN ALL AREAS WILL BE INSTALLED AT 80" FROM THE FLOOR TO THE BOTTOM OF DEVICE. ALL VISUAL DEVICES ARE SYNCHRONIZED AND THE AUDIBLE SIGNAL IS TEMPORAL PATTERN ALSO SYNCHRONIZED. 6. ALL MONITOR MODULES ARE TO BE INSTALLED WITHIN 3' OF THE POINTS, VALVES OR EQUIPMENT BEING MONITORED. SOME EXCEPTIONS APPLY i.e., PIV, BACK FLOW, ETC. 7. THE FACILITY OWNER MUST PROVIDE TWO DEDICATED PHONE LINES TO THE FACP. 8. ALL EQUIPMENT IS COMPATIBLE AND UL LISTED FOR FIRE ALARM SYSTEM USE. 9. PROVIDE BREAKER LOCKS FOR ALL FIRE ALARM CIRCUITS AND PAINT BREAKERS RED. 10. PAINT ALL FIRE ALARM JUNCTION BOX COVERS RED.
