Res No 115-18-15148RESOLUTION NO.: 115-18-15148 A Resolution authorizing the City Manager to expend an amount not to exceed $12,050 for Garp Construction Group Inc to remove the current roof and install a new roof at the Building Maintenance Bay. WHEREAS, the existing roof located in the Public Works Department at 4795 SW 75th Avenue is approximately 20 years old and experiencing damage due to numerous leaks; and WHEREAS, the useful life of the roof has been exceeded and is deteriorating daily; and WHEREAS, the roof leaks have also caused interior damage due to water intrusion; and WHEREAS, the proposal includes the permit, inspections, removal of the existing roof, installation on the 52-foot-wide and 30-foot-long roof and a 10-year manufacturer warranty; and WHEREAS, the City obtained quotes from 3 different sources and Garp Construction Group was the lowest and most responsive bidder; and WHEREAS, the expenditure shall be charged to departmental Capital Improvements account number 301.1790.519.6450 which has a current balance of $1,006,319.80 before this request. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to expend an amount not to exceed $12,050 for Garp Construction Group Inc to remove the current roof and install a new roof at the Building Maintenance Bay located at 4795 SW 75th Avenue. Section 2. Severability. If any section, clause, sentence, or phrase of this resolution is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, this holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this resolution. Section 3. Effective Date: This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
