Res No 111-18-15144RESOLUTION NO. 111-18-15144 A Resolution appointing Douglas Mackey to serve on the Historic Preservation Board for a two-year term ending June 18, 2020. WHEREAS, the Mayor and Commission recognize the important contributions made by those who serve on the various City boards and committees and wish to appoint a full complement to each of the active boards and committees; and WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to appoint Douglas Mackey to serve for a two-year term on the Historic Preservation Board. This appointment(s) shall expire June 18,2020, unless earlier removed, or until a successor is duly appointed and qualified; and WHEREAS, commencing with appointments made after January 1,2009, Sec. 2-22 "Term Limits" of the Code of Ordinances provides that, appointees are limited to two (2) consecutive two-year terms of membership on a specific commission, board, or committee. After serving a maximum of two (2) consecutive year terms, an appointee shall not be reappointed to the same commission, board or committee unless at least one year has elapsed between the term limited position and the effective date of commencement of the proposed appointment for a new term; and WHEREAS, Sec. 2-22 "Term Limits" of the Code of Ordinances, as amended by Ordinance No. 06-14- 2184, dated April 15,2014, provides that the appointer, or his or her successor in office, may extend the term limits of his or her appointment with the advice and consent of a majority of the City Commission; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Sec. 2-22 "Term Limits" of the Code of Ordinances, this will be Mr. Mackey's first two-year term. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA, THAT: Section 1. The City Commission hereby appoints Douglas Mackey to Historic Preservation Board. Section 2. The expiration date of this appointment shall be June 18, 2020, unless earlier removed. Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of June, 2018. If there is no state agency or the municipal or county agency chooses not to conduct employment screening, "agency" means the Department of Children and f.amilies. (2) "Employee" means any person required by law to be screened pursuant to this chapter, including, but not limited to, persons who are contractors, licensees, or volunteers. (3) "Employer" means any person or entity required by law to conduct screening of employees pursuant to this chapter. (4) "Employment" means any activity or service sought to b'e performed by an employee which requires the employee to be screened pursuant to this chapter. (5) "Specified agency" means the Department of Health, the Department of Children and Families, the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation within the Department of Education, the Agency for Health Care Administration, the Department of Elderly Affairs, the Department of Juvenile Justice, and the' Agency for Persons with Disabilities when these agencies are conducting state and national criminal history background screening on persons who work with children or persons who are elderly or disabled. (6) "Vulnerable person" means a minor as defined in s. 1.01 or a vulnerable adult as defined in s. 415.102.
