- Dear Mr. Romine:. -
..In response to your letter of September 29, 1971 , we have
reviewed the proposed housing project plans for connection. to
sanitary sewers owned and operated by the City of South Miami .
The engineer for the developer proposes to make 8-inch connec-
tions tc Manhole 103, Line 27 in S.W. 68th Street and Manhole _
119, Line 36 in S.W. 69th Street. The existing sanitary sewers
were constructed in Sewer District SS-1 and have adequate
capacity for the load to be imposed upon them as the proposed
z land-use was anticipated.
We recommend that the developers' sewers be connected in
accordance with the plans submitted by the developer, except
that the connections to the manholes should be made at an
elevation equal to the top of concrete bench in the manholes
rather than the elevation of the invert or flow line. In the
latter case, it is necessary to break out a large portion of
the manhole concrete base, with the subsequent result that there
is ,somewhat severe infiltration from this point.
We notice in aerial photographs of the development site that
there were perhaps two dozen homes within the area, each of
which has vE9.,n y r v:J i vc:u Wljth a / r connection. AS
these connections will no longer be required, care should be
taken to plug them. with a water tight seal at the property
dines. Please contact the writer if we can be of further
assistance in this matter.

S. REGULAR PLANNING BOARD MEETINGS ARE HELD TWICE PER MONTH, ON TUESDAY PRECEDING THE
REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING. (COUNCIL MEETS ON THE FIRST AND THIRD TUESDAY OF EACH MONTH).
THE MEETINGS ARE HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS, CITY HALL AND BEGIN AT SY 00 OICLOCK Po Mo
