They stated the restaurant will have an informal appearance, will be .a. fine type with moderate prices and would be open from approximately 11:30 A. M. to approximately 12 :30 to 1: 00 A . M. with the heavy activity taking place when the retail stores are closed and would, therefore, not present a parking problem. Mr. Carl Lindgren of 1247 Mariposa Avenue,,. Coral Gables, Florida, addressed the Board stating he .had no objection to the restaurant and it was his opinion it would be an asset to the City, however, he stated he was concerned about the parking problem that would exist. She stated that her next door neighbor did not object to the awning. Mr. .Carl Snyder of 6890 S. W. 78 Terrace and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gardner of 7871 S. W. 69 Avenue spoke in favor of granting the request. A discussion was had by the Board. The Board recommended that Mrs Abbott obtain a letter from her next door neighbor stating she did not object to her request before appearing before the City Council. Chairman Smith read into the minutes Resolution No. 1185 dated March 4, 1958 granting a variance to build the residence in question on two .nonconforming 62 .5 foot lots. Mr. Michelson noted that the building setbacks were nonconforming. Mrs. Masters also stated the property has a lot of nonconformities existing presently. MOTION: By Mr. Coburn, seconded by Mr. Yarborough, to recommend . to the City Council .approval of the variance to permit a rear setback of 12 inches where 25 feet is required. VOTE IN FAVOR OF MOTION: Yes - 4 No - 2 (Masters, Michelson) MOTION CARRIED. The Board members stated they definitely want a closer liaison with the City Council. Page 3 - 5/9/78 jk Mrs. ,Joyce Abbot spoke in favor of granting the request stating she had constructed an awning on her house under which to park her automobile and did not know it did not meet the requirements of the City code until after it was constructed. She stated that her next door neighbor did not object to the awning. Mr. Carl Snyder of 6890 S . W. 78 Terrace and Mr. and Mrs . Robert Gardner of 7871 S. W. 69 Avenue spoke in favor of granting the request. A discussion was had by the Board. The Board recommended that Mrs . Abbott obtain a letter from her next door neighbor stating she did not object to her request before appearing before the City Council. Chairman Smith read into the minutes Resolution No. 1185 dated March 4, 1958 granting a variance to build the residence in question on two nonconforming 62 .5 foot lots . Mr. Michelson noted that the building setbacks were nonconforming. Mrs. Masters also stated the property has a lot of a ionconformities existing presently. MOTION: By Mr. Coburn, . seconded by Mr. Yarborough, to recommend to the City Council approval of the variance to permit a rear setback of 12 inches where 25 feet is required. Public Hearing ##78-11 City Council Request: Review of Subsection .04 (Setbacks) , of Section 5-6-3 (Site Development Standards) , of Article V of Section 1 of Ordinance No. 20-71-724 towards amending by changing the last item in said subsection entitled "Project Perimeter" to read as follows: "Setbacks for Distance Individual Units _ (feet) Other Project Perimeter 15 Required in addition to any other setback in Townhouse Project. " Chairman Smith announced the public hearing was in session and asked if there was anyone present wishing to speak for or against the request. There being no one caring to speak, Chairman Smith deemed the public hearing closed. As introduction and general explanation, Mr. Godwin stated this item was part of the recommendations by Mr. Jim Duncan in relation to the Page 4 - 5/9/78 jk revamping of the RP-9 ordinance . He further stated that staff is totally In favor of this amendment . Discussion was had by the Board. The Board members stated they definitely want a closer liaison with the City Council.
