Res No 179-96-99334-11AI, RESOLUTION NO. 179-96-9933 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA, RELATING TO A REQUEST FOR FUNDING BY SOUTH MIAMI MIDDLE/COMMUNITY SCHOOL PISA TO SUPPORT THE MAGIC SHUTTLE, APPROVING FUNDING IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $35,000 FROM ACCOUNT # 01-2100-5510, "GENERAL CONTINGENCY." WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission received a written request from the south Miami Middle/Community School PISA for funding of a shuttle service for children in the community who live in areas of the city not included in Dade County Public Schools transportation limits, a service contracted by the PISA with Franmar Corp.; and WHEREAS, the request provides projected fare reductions which would result from funding from the city, reducing the cost for students, and provides information regarding administration and management of the project; and WHEREAS, the City desires to support the shuttle service, provided there is a reduction in the fare to 25� each way. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the City is authorized to fund the Magic Shuttle, via payments to the South Miami Middle/Community School PISA, in an amount not to exceed $35,000 from account # 01-2100-5510, "General Contingency," during Fiscal Year 1996-97. Section 2. That funds shall be allocated in increments, beginning with an initial payment of $10,000. Future payments, if any, will be contingent upon the sufficiency of financial reports and successful fare reduction, as determined by the City Manager. Subsequent payments in the amount of $10,000 and $15,000 will be made following 90-day reporting and 180 day reporting, based upon the above criteria and approval of the City Manager. Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon approval. PASSED AND ADOPTED this l5th day of October- , 1996.
