This piece of equipment is a critical compo the Department's daily residential trash collection operation. Works nent of Truck no. 21 -42 is one of the operation's "front line" trash trucks. Since the truck's breakdown, the operation has been using its "spare' truck. This is an older vehicle which should o my be used occasionally as backup. It is therefore imperative that truck no. 21-42 be put back in service a soon as possible. The trash truck's cab access addition, repair of the sheet sound mechanical condition feels that the expenditure is steps assembly and its fuel tank straps need replacement. In metal in the truck's dum p bed is required. The vehicle is in and has a history of reliability. The Department therefore warranted. Three quotes for the above repairs were obtained from area vendors. The lowest quote was $2,100.00, produced by American Truck Crane. Inc. The demanding schedule of the City's trash collection operation requires that all of its front line vehicles he. p o erational. Therefore.
