proposed amendments to the Future Land Use Map of the City of South 4
Miami’s Comprehensive Plan and the zoning map concerning the Fellowship 5
Church propertygenerally located northwest of the intersection of SW 72nd 6
Street and SW 67th Avenue. 7

WHEREAS, on April 17th, 2018. the Commission deferred the second reading of the 9
two ordinances for Fellowship Church until May 15th; and10

WHEREAS,the attorney for theapplicant has sent the Planning and Zoning Director a 12
written request to defer these items since the Fellowship Church will notbe able to submit the 13
requested revisions in time for that meeting; and14

WHEREAS,in light of this request the ordinances in question were not advertised for 16
the May 15, 2018 Commission meeting; and17

WHEREAS,the City Manager has indicated the City should defer the second reading19
until the June 19th, 2018, City Commission meeting; and20

WHEREAS, Section 20-5.5 (E) (4) authorizes the City Commission to defer an item and 22
it provides that “[a]request for deferral made by the city manager, planning director, planning 23
board, city manager or city commission and shall not be subject to the requirements set forth 24
above in subsections 20-5.6(E)(1)(2)(3). 25

NOWTHEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVEDBY THE MAYOR AND CITY 27
COMMISSIONERSOF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA:28

Section 1. The application of the Fellowship Church and the 2nd reading of the following 30
ordinances are hereby deferred to June 19, 2018:31

An Ordinance Adopting a Small-Scale Amendment to the Future Land Use Map of the 33
City of South Miami’s Comprehensive Plan, amending the designation of an 34
approximately 2.60-acre property generally located northwest of the intersection of SW 35
72nd Street and SW 67th Avenue, and as legally described herein, from Religious to 36
Multiple Family Residential (Four Story); and37

An Ordinance amending the Official Zoning Map, amending the designation of an 39
approximately 2.60-acre property generally located northwest of the intersection of SW 40
72nd Street and SW 67th Avenue, as legally described herein, from “R” Religious to 41
“RM-18” Low Density Multi-Family Residential.42

Section 2. Severability. If any section clause, sentence, or phrase of this resolution is for 44
any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, the holding shall 45
not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this resolution.46

Section 3. Effective Date. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon 2
adoption.3
