WHEREAS, businesses located in the Transit Oriented Development District, the Light Industrial Zoning District, and Hometown Overlay District generate far more of the City's revenues th an all of the single fami ly residential neighborhoods combined; and WHEREAS, the City Commissioners desire to have a term and a map to identify the primary area of concentration of such activity; and WHEREAS, the City Commissioners wish to enhance their ability to encourage policies and adopt regulations to revitalize the core of the Transit Oriented Development District, the Light Industrial Zoning District, and the Hometown Overlay Districts. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The following commercial /industrial / mixed-use area shall be entitled "COMMERCIAL REVITALIZATION AND ENHANCEMENT AREA": Starting at SW 62nd Ave and USl ("Point of Beginning") north on 62nd Avenue to SW 69th St, east to SW 59th PI , north to SW 68th St, east to SW 57th Ave, south to SW 74th St, west to SW 61st Ave, west to US 1, southwest to Point of Beginning. This area is represented graphically in Exhibit A which is incorporated as an essential component of this resolution. Section 2. Severability: If any section clause, sentence, or phrase of this resolution i s for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, the holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this resolution. Section 3. Effective Date: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption by vote of the City Commission. PASSED A D ADOPTED this __ day of _____ , 2018.
