A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING A FORMAL PRESENTATION OF
RECORDS DEPICTING THE HISTORY OF THE AFTER SCHOOL HOUSE, AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXPEND FUNDS NOT TO EXCEED
$500 FOR INCIDENTAL EXPENSES IN CONJUNCTION WITH A PROGRAM TO
BE HELD IN MAY, 1996 FOR PRESENTATION OF A HISTORICAL RECORD
OF THE AFTER SCHOOL HOUSE TO THE HISTORICAL MUSEUM.
DISBURSEMENTS WILL BE PAID FROM ACCOUNT # 2100-5510.
WHEREAS, the After School House has provided meaningful experiences
for hundreds of children in this community through its mentoring program
for more than 25 years; and
WHEREAS, the After School House is a pioneer program and a testimony
of the commitment South Miami has to its youth; and
WHEREAS, the founders of the After School House have carefully
documented the history of the program in a scrapbook containing newspaper
clippings and other articles pertaining to the After School House Program
that deserves preservation; and
WHEREAS, the Historical Museum wishes to receive this record for its
historic worth and as a permanent record for future generations.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY
• SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Mayor and Commission of the City of South Miami
support the preservation of the history of the After School House, and
authorize the City Manager to
disburse funds not to exceed $500 to fund
a program at the Historical
Museum for the formal presentation of a
Scrapbook depicting the 25 year history of the After.School House.
Section 2. This resolution
