A Resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute a professional service
work order with Stantec Consulting Services Inc., for Drainage and Roadway
Improvement at the intersection of SW 60th Avenue and SW 83rd Street
Project.
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission wish to provide drainage and
roadway improvements at the intersection of SW 60th Avenue and SW 83 rd Street; and
WHEREAS, Stantec Consulting Services, Inc is one of four firms selected by
Resolution No. 060-17-14861, to provide professional service agreement for engineering
services on as needed basis in accordance with Florida Statute 287.055, "Consultants
Competitive Negotiation Act;" and
WHEREAS, Stantec Consulting Services, Inc., submitted a proposal in the amount
of $18,870.00 that is comprehensive and cost effective in its design approach; and
WHEREAS, the City of south Miami staff has negotiated the hours and find them
acceptable; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission desires to authorize the City
Manager to execute a professional service work order with Stantec Consulting Services,
Inc., for drainage and roadway improvements at the intersection of SW 60th Avenue and
SW 83 rd Street.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF SOUTH MIAMI, FLORIDA;
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a professional
service work order with Stantec Consulting Services, Inc., to provide Professional
Engineering Services for the Drainage and Roadway Improvements at the intersection of
SW 60 th Avenue and SW 83 rd Street Project for an amount not to exceed $18,870.00.
The expenditure is to be charged to the Storm water Drain Trust Fund Account Number
111-1730-541-6490 with an account balance of $180,000.00 before this request was
made
Section 2. Severability. If any section, clause, sentence, or phrase of this
resolution is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent
jurisdiction, this holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this
resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date: This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
enactment.

The intersection of SW 6()th Avenue and SW 83rd Street Is experiencing
localized flooding during rain storm events due to improper drainage in
the area. To address the localized ponding, Stantec Consulting Services
Inc., will conduct a survey and one percolation test for assessment of
existing conditions, develop drainage plans calculation for a five (5) year
one (1) hour storm~ submittal to DERM and permitting if needed, milling
and necessary asphalt repairs and striping plans to match existing
condition. Also, attend meetings during construction, review contractor's
submittals, perform construction observations, review payment
requisition, conduct punch list and project complete project dose out.
Stantec Consulting Services, Inc is one of four firms selected by
Resolution No. 060-17-14861, to provide professional service agreement
fot engineering services on as needed basis In accordance with Florida
Statute 287.055, "Consultants Competitive Negotiation Act.
Professional Services were requested for the Drainage &: Roadway
Improvements and a final revised proposal was accepted on January 25,
2018, that is comprehensive and cost effective for the services requested.
PRoPosAL AMouNT: Please refer to the consultant contract and fee schedules.·
FUND & ACCOUNT: Expenditures related to this contract shall be charged to the Storm Water
Drain Trust Fund Account for an amount not to exceed $18,870.
ATTACHMENtS:
The expenditure shall be charged $18,870 to the Storm Water Drain Trust
Fund Account number 111-1730-541-6490 which has a balance of
$180,000.00 before this request was made.

would like to complete drainage and roadway improvements at the intersection of SW 60th Ave and SW 83rd
Street.
scopE OF SERVICBS:
Our scope will include topographic survey with cross sections at 25 feet, one percolation test, field .
assessment of existing conditions including photos, recommendation of the required scope of work
including milling and necessary asphalt repairs and striping plans to match existing conditions. Drainage
plans calculations will be developed to meet the requirements for a five (s) year one (1) hour storm, no
profile view is included. We will include a bid form for City's use during the bidding process and an estimate
of probable cost. Sidewalk improvement or ADA ramp upgrades are not included in our scope. We wiD send
out utility notifications to applicable utility companies and obtain as-builts and input utility information
into the plans.
PermittingPbase
Provide permitting support for the City including responding and add.ressing permit comments, issuing
revised plans sheets as required and re-submitting the applicable documentation. .Also includes submittal
to Miami-Dade DERM fortheir review if needed.
During this phase, we will prepare for and attend one preconstruction meeting, review contractor's
submittals, coordinate the work and work schedule, perform construction observations during construction
activities Oimited to 32 hours), review contractor's payment requisitions, conduct punch list inspection, and
complete project closeout.

Nutting Engineers of Florida, Inc. (NE) is pleased to present this proposal for performing exfiltration testing
services for the referenced project.
Per your email dated November 22, 2017 and review of the aerial photographs provided therein, you requested
that we provide a proposal/ agreement for performing one exfiltration test to a depth of 15 feet below land
surface at the referenced site. Based on your request for proposal and our understanding of the project, we
propose the follOwing scope of work and fee schedule.
SCOPE OF WORK
We propose to perform one usual type open-hole exfiltration test(s) In general accordance with South Florida
Water Management District (SFWMD) specifications to a depth of 15 feet each. At the completion of the on-site
work, we will provide a brief report describing the testing procedures and the hydraulic conductivity (k value) of
the solis. We assume the site is accessible to truck mounted drilling equipment and that the undergroUfid utilities
will be cleared by Call Sunshine prior to our performing the on-site work.

Pursuant to your request regarding a fee estimate for Surveying and Mapping services forthe above-
referenced project. LONGITUDE SURVEYORS. LLe (l.S) is pleased to submit the following proposal for your consideration.
A:. Scope of Work:
LONGITUDE will perform a full Topographic Survey including the following information:
• Right~of~Way and property Ones for the project area and adjacent properties wiB be shown graphically.
• A graphical baseline will be created and included.
• locatIon of all overhead utifrties. sidewalks, curb and gutters. paved roads. fences. signs, manholes, catch basins,
valves/valve boxes and any other aboveground improvements within the Survey limits, with elevations.
• Invert and grate elevations for all project area storm manholes and catch basins.
• Bevations will be collected equivalent to a 2S-foot grid.
• All elevations will be referenced to the National Geodetic Vertical Datum 1929 (NGVD29).
• Control poinfs wUi be set outside the project limits in locations where they can be used by the contractor during
construction.
• All control poinfs will have Northing and Easting coordinates referenced to the Florida State Plane Coordinate
System, based on the North American Datum of 1983/2011.
